His friends used to call him “the Cultural Chef”. Indeed he is the only Chef in Singapore who has a qualification from the Ministry of Education (M.O.E.), and the People Association (P.A.), promoting and teaching Italian Traditional Cuisine. Fabrizio is not only a renowned Chef, he is also a Linguist teacher with the Italian Institute of Culture, the French Lycee school, various Community Clubs and a Private Tutor for many other professionals from all kinds of organizations. He also carried out cultural programs at Raffles Institution, National University of Singapore, Constituencies, and many more. Born and raised in Rome, Chef Fabrizio Righi grew up in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment. Being a son of influential educators in Rome, he and his siblings learned the importance of education from their parents and inherited their tenacity to learn and excel. Having maternal grandparents hailed from a former aristocratic family in Southern Italy, also exposed him to the richness of Italian history and culture. Combined with his heritage and pride with what Italy has to offer the world, he started to have a keen interest in the arts, history and cuisine of Rome and his Country. He got an MBA and qualification for teaching Humanities. He speaks till a certain extent of 9 European languages. He has been the Manager of a very important International Humanitarian Organization for many years, travelling far and wide to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, and combining and learning the cuisine of everywhere he has been. He learned the best secrets of Italian Cuisine from his lovely grandmother Maria Stella, and worked in several restaurants, in Rome and in Europe, in the last 20 years when he worked abroad. His forte are: Italian Traditional Cuisine, Roman Cuisine, Ancient Roman Cuisine, Fusion Cuisine. After he settled down in Singapore 5 years ago, an Italian Restaurant Manager by profession now, Chef Fabrizio is a free-lance event Chef Manager who enjoys collaborating with restaurants, F&B fairs, companies, associations, and food magazines such as the BBC GoodFood Asian Edition and Xin Flavours- to create mouth-watering Italian recipes for both the foodies and non-foodies. He also enjoys the fellowship with other Italian expatriates in Singapore by facilitating get-together BBQs, Italian national events, culinary activities and programs, and pizza parties.
